The latter limits the speed and power transmission capacity of the gear. On the other hand, a spiral-cut bevel gear experiences gradual but less-destructive loading. It can be used for high-speed applications, but it should be noted that a spiral-cut bevel gear is more complicated to manufacture.
Spur-cut bevel gear
